About the Artist

Celia Judge is a Massachusetts-based impressionist-realist who paints the surrounding New England Landscape, Seascape and Cityscape. Her paintings reflect a traditional style of art emphasizing the romantic view of nature, children and life. Celia works mainly in oils but is an accomplished watercolorist and pastelist.

Celia received a BFA in Painting and Education from Massachusetts College of Art.

Her dedication and interest in painting led Celia to continue  training with  workshops in watercolor, pastel, oil, and gold leaf. Among those were the Boston school of Painting artists, Robert Cormier and Robert Douglas Hunter, Tonalist painter, Dennis Sheeha,  portrait artist Daniel Greene and watercolorist David Land, Ruth Wynn and Joseph Santoro. Celia also studied with George Degalis. Capturing moments of her day, she brings a unique style of color and light to the canvas.

The majority of Celia Judge’s paintings are of the interesting and varied landscapes of New England, from the coastal views of Cape Cod, South Shore to the Mountainous scenery of New Hampshire and Vermont. She also has painted and sold many views of the Copley Square, Beacon Hill, Back Bay neighborhoods and was fond of painting the Public Garden and Boston Common.

Celia was a twenty-five year member of the Copley Society of Artists, the oldest art association in America, where she received the Yankee Sagendotph Award. She has also received many awards and prizes for her oils, watercolors and pastels. Celia has held different positions on the board several art associations including past president of Wellesley Society of Artists. When Celia is not painting, she enjoys gardening, writing and reading.
